update..when superman returns

June 28, 2006

Well i’m back…not really for good, because for the past few months i’ve been very busy, there are so many things that i need to focus on especially to my worked, so that’s the reason i’m unable to update my blog…there are so many changes happen to me for the past 2 months, i got a new team, got promoted(but no salary increase) some soul searching……well i could actually say that i’m doing just fine…

I just finished watching superman today,,yes it’s first showing today, i really wanted to watch this movie to IMAX CINEMA in mall of asia however all tickets are sold out up to july 8, i don’t want to wait that long, so i ended up  watching  the movie to megamall cinema

The movie is so great, you could actually say that superman fever is back..As avid fan of superman the movie really deserve two thumbs up especially Brandon Routh he really gave justice to the character and he really deserve to be a new superman, Kevin Spacey is really good for portaying Lex Luthor and of course lady love of Superman Lois Lane portray by Kate Bosworth,,A beautifully-shot, impressively scored. This Superman is like nothing you’ve ever seen before, but it tickles something and comforting at the back of the mind. Gorgeously detailed and meticulously realized, it’s a homecoming of a movie. As Lois Lane Article in the movie Does the world need superman? Maybe not everyone. But people who love movies do….

must see movie

March 28, 2006

Last saturday i was able to watch the movie Nanny Mcphee, we supposed to watch North Country but since we came from worked and little bit tired so we just  decided to see a feel good movie like Nanny Mcphee. There was much joy to be had, It really was a lot of fun for children’s movies. "Nanny McPhee" will appeal to moviegoers its "Supernanny"-like belief that teaching children is also about teaching their parents (the closing credits inform us, "This film is dedicated to the truly naughty. And their children.").

memorable quotes from that movie: When you need me, but do not want me, then I will stay. When you want me, but do not need me, then I have to go

dream signs

March 24, 2006

dream is a  series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.

Everyone and anyone’s dreams are unique. No two individuals can have the same background, emotions nor experiences. Dreams are connected with your own "reality" thus when interpreting your dreams, it’s important to draw conclusions from your personal life and experiences. For the past few days i always wake-up late, not that i don’t want too get up and be ready for worked but because of having a bad dream..Funny thing is those dreams that i remember is very unusual i mean seeing yourself caught in the middle of nowhere or things  that i can’t imagined that i will  encounter in real life, true they say that those dream that you can’t remember are the one that will happen in real life, When you understand your dreams you will have the ability to further understand and discover the true you.

Here are some list of dream signs :

When you see friends in your dream that means that if you see good friends you will get a close relationship and if you see bad friends you will receive news about a bad illness.

To dream that you love someone means that you will get happiness in your life.

If you see Gold that means that you are careless with your money and you will suffer losses if you do not change.

To see stars in your dream symbolizes spirit and luck.

If you dream of a heart that means truth, love, and courage.

To see the past in your dream means that you lack family and need to visit them.

To see a stranger in your dream means that you are uncertain about yourself.

To see a monster in your dream means that you are afraid to admit the truth.

To see that you are dead means that you shall realize that you are feeling alone.

To see riches in you dream means that you may become greedy and you may feel insecure.

Dreams about being chased may represent your way of coping with fears, stress or various situations in your waking life. Instead of confronting your problems, you are running away from them and avoiding them.

To Dream something that is above you means danger or if the object above you falls you will have sudden disappointment

Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging

March 17, 2006

A friend of mine send an email about  kind of personality a test called myers brigss test and she insist that i should try to answer it and take time, i thought it’s just the same OLD personality test that i always get from several forwarded emails but she said this far different from those this one really make sense so out of curiosity i try to answer it and to my surprise the result really describe my personality, my attitude towards to other people as well my inner-self..

this excerpt of the result:

ESFJs are generous entertainers. They enjoy and joyfully observe traditions and are liberal in giving, especially where custom prescribes. All else being equal, ESFJs enjoy being in charge. They see problems clearly and delegate easily, work hard and play with zest. They willingly provide service (which embodies life’s meaning) and expect the same from others. ESFJs are easily wounded. And when wounded, their emotions will not be contained. As an ESFJ, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit in with your personal value system. Your secondary mode is internal, where you take things in via your five senses in a literal, concrete fashion.

people persons - they love people. They are warmly interested in others. They use their Sensing and Judging characteristics to gather specific, detailed information about others, and turn this information into supportive judgments. They want to like people, and have a special skill at bringing out the best in others. They are extremely good at reading others, and understanding their point of view. The ESFJ’s strong desire to be liked and for everything to be pleasant makes them highly supportive of others. People like to be around ESFJs, because the ESFJ has a special gift of invariably making people feel good about themselves.

The ESFJ takes their responsibilities very seriously, and is very dependable They value security and stability, and have a strong focus on the details of life. They see before others do what needs to be done, and do whatever it takes to make sure that it gets done. They enjoy these types of tasks, and are extremely good at them. ESFJs are warm-hearted individuals who highly value their close personal relationships. They are very service-oriented, and their own happiness is closely tied into the happiness and comfort of those around them.

They are valued for their genuine warm and caring natures, and their special ability to bring out the best in others. They usually do not handle conflict well, and may tend to be very controlling or manipulative. Relationships are central to their lives, and they put forth a great amount of energy into developing and maintaining their close interpersonal relationships. They expect the same from others.

ESFJs at their best are warm, sympathetic, helpful, cooperative, tactful, down-to-earth, practical, thorough, consistent, organized, enthusiastic, and energetic. They enjoy tradition and security, and will seek stable lives that are rich in contact with friends and family

call center world

March 16, 2006

It was last week when abs-cbn feature in The Correspondents an episode about call center and their employees. I got to chance to see this episode however i was unable to finish it since i have worked. I  also working in a call center industry, when i graduated in college this is my first job and until now i’m still working in call center so far i survived from this kind of job. First i was hesistant to worked in a call center because  i’m not use to night shift i’m a morning person at the sametime i will miss important occasion including christmas and new year, it’s a big sacrifice not to be with your family on those important day, but then again i just realize that there a lot of people who are sacrificing not to be with there family who went overseas just to provide a better life, lucky for us who are here in are own country that we are able to help our family. Some may say it’s very easy to have this  kind of job but honestly there are a lot of factors that you have to considered not  just simply answering the phone and speak english fluently.

Just to share, an email that i’ve got, an article from a call center manager  commenting about the feature episode of The Correspondents

Sad to say, Gigi Grande and the producers who conceptualized the said episode was not able to capture the truth behind call centers and their employees.
magaan na trabaho — this is a misconception that a lot of people have about call centers. this is work, serious work and not playtime. as call center agents we are the frontliners of some of the biggest companies around the world. we handle their first line of defense for their businnes, Customer Service. we Filipinos who work in call centers represent these companies to their consumers and we filipinos can spell the success or downfall of these business just on how we deal with their consumers 24/7 and that is not an easy task. the reason why call centers thrive in the philippines is because filipinos have good customer service skills. we are professional workers and we give everything a 100%. i salute all the call center employees who make this feat possible. it means jobs and job security to the filipinos who wanted to work in their own country.

no age limit — because call centers are equal opportunity employers. they do not set limitations to people’s ability to work. it is only here in the philippines where we put an age limit to applications. it really does not matter what age the applicant is as long as they can still deliver quality performance. it is called diversity.
hindi rin kailangang college graduate - for cheap call centers maybe, not for the big ones. we encourage our applicants to finish college first before applying. they may also be assisted through schedule requests if they want to continue studying while still employed.

ang tanging requirement, ganda ng boses at galing sa pagsasalita — for radio stations yes. not for call center. we are not DJs. we also require high IQ and intelligence in call centers. For example, Wil Ison, the 24 year old manager who was featured in The Correpondents. You did not even applaude him for reaching that position in such a young age. if he was employed in a bank, he will only become a manager if he kissed enough bossess ass or because he is already 50 years old. People like Wil were promoted because they are good employees. Most of the call centers have internal application processes that enables the employees to apply for higher position highliting their performance and capabilities and not who their friends are and whose ass they just wiped.

‘Ika nga ng iba, "in" ka kapag nasa call center ka. - this is not a fad. we are working, we pay our taxes, we are productive citizens of this country. we chose to stay and earn here in our own country rather than go abroad and contribute to the brain drain. we earn a lot beacuse we work hard. we are thankful for the good education we were provided by our parents that gave us the competencies we have now. we are working for multinational companies and we get promoted. most of us 21-30 years old and we are managers, supervisors and senior managers.

we may not be doctors or lawyers but at least we are not corrupt. we are productive and we make sure that our families and our future families will not be included with the uneducated, paid rallyists in EDSA, who do not even understand why they are there. we are not a burden to the government, they should even be thankful because it is our tax, the middle class tax, that makes it possible for the Philippines to stay alive.

instead of potraying us as obese, smoking insomiacs….why not thank us? applaude our achievements, be proud that we are very good with what we do that’s why investors come in to the philippines. ask the government to provide security to the employees who have different schedules from the normal 9-5 workers? ask them to take care of us and in return we will work harder, show the companies that it is worth investing in the philippines, we will continue to pay our taxes and slowly but surely help our country progress.

Tearjerker…

March 14, 2006

Terry McKay: Winter must be cold for those with no warm memories… And we’ve already missed the spring

I always find myself watching a classic movie, Last weekend it was my 4th time to see An affair to remember, i was able to  watched the remake before  but nothing beats the original. Well i’m not familiar with this movie before but when i saw Sleepless Seattle that is the only time that i really wanted to see this movie, but the  only thing i know this movie is already  part of hollywood history. This film has to be the best romantic film that I’ve ever seen, even above Gone With the Wind, and Casablanca, After I saw Sleepless in Seattle when I was in high school and caught the many references to this film, I decided to check it out for myself. Needless to say, with the whole "shipboard romance" aspect of it, and the promise to meet again in six months on a top of the  Empire State Building of all places, I quickly became hooked.
Seeing this film always makes me wonder if something like the kind of relationship describes within this film would actually be possible in real life. Would and could someone actually leave the person they were engaged to in order to marry a complete and total stranger they just met days ago? I’d like to think that it could, but then again I am nothing but a hopeless romantic. The final scene always tears my heart out no matter how many times I’ve seen it. I’m always sobbing. Watching this even if you are single is always a treat. It allows our fantasies to take wing so that we may think we are actually the one meeting our beloved on top of  Empire State Building. The final scene is wonderfully romantic, It is my favorite scene in the movie! Where Love conquers all.

EDSA

February 24, 2006

Before i went home from work today i recieved this text from a friend

"filipinos to pray for peace & order in our country as the president decalred state of emergency."

I was shocked to hear the news no TV or Radio here in the office and even we have internet of course the news that we will get is the headlines from yesterday news, since our office is overlooking edsa we try to look on the window we saw banner  far from where i’m looking, it’s clear sight that there is something going on outside from our bldg here in ortigas, the EDSA marked again another history in the making for this anniversary of EDSA 1, EDSA 2 AND 3.

Brokeback Mountain

February 21, 2006

"It confirms that all is fair in love knows no boundaries and no gender"

It’s been 1 month since i’ve watched a movie in cinema. But last weekend i decided to watch brokeback mountain, since i’ve heard so much review about this movie and i guess it also help that last golden globe awards this movie got so much recognition including best picture, as well got 8 nomination this coming oscar awards.

I was curious about this movie, It’s a subject not everyone is comfortable with a movie with two gay cowboys, but  if you are willing to give it a chance, is an emotional, heartbreaking movie. Including the amazing performance from the actor especially Heath Ledger despite of being an australian he really try his best  to portray a cowboy with a western accent although some dialogue is difficult to understand, still he gave justice to his character as Ennis Del Mar, As well Michelle Williams from Dawson’s Creek gal she bloomed to a promising actress. Cinematography is also one  factor why this movie is so good, Ang Lee mixes beautiful shots of the open country and dusty Texas with deeply intimate one-on-one scenes between the various actors in  Brokeback Mountain. This movie is  building toward something, a haunting sense of regret about roads not taken - not because the desire wasn’t there, but because it simply wasn’t possible.

STress Free

February 18, 2006

Everybody experiences stress.Like me who is working environment that main ingredients is patient and understanding to any given  situation. A Too much stress can damage your physical, emotional, and mental health. Since it is not always possible to prevent stress, we all need to learn how to reduce it.

This is some helpful tips for everyone who are stress:

 1. PREVENT IT.  Every time you let anger or frustration take control, it drains away good energy and sidetracks you from more important things. Obviously, you can’t always control what goes on around you, but you can control how you respond. Try a little more patience next time you get caught in traffic and you’ll avoid unnecessary stress.

 2. SET GOALS.  If you set goals, you can take better control of your life. Think where you’d like to be in 1 year or 5 years. Be realistic by starting with small, daily goals, then build up from there and be prepared to adjust them as changes occur in your life.

 3. ESTABLISH PRIORITIES. Do you often feel rushed because "there’s no time"? Why not regulate the pace of your life? Plan ahead. Make a list of tasks in order of priority. Concentrate on what’s really important to you and drop those things that only waste your energy.

4. TAKE TIME OUT. Spend a few minutes alone each day to break the routine. This helps ease stress and gives you a better perspective of what’s around you. Set aside time during the week for hobbies or exercise.

 5. HAVE FAITH. Peace of mind comes to those who trust in God’s power to lessen life’s burdens through prayer.

6. THINK POSITIVELY. Having a positive attitude will help you assert yourself and feel more in control. You waste energy if you constantly criticize yourself or set unrealistic goals. Negative thoughts generally produce negative results. Instead of saying, "I can’t," practice saying, "I can." You’ll be surprised how much more you can accomplish.

7. HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR. Laughter can be one of the best medicines for stress. Being able to laugh at yourself and the world can break tension and give you some relief from stress.

8. COMMUNICATE. Suffering in silence only increases the stress you build up inside. Talk over your feelings and concerns with your family, a friend, counselor, or health professional. "Thinking out loud" like this not only relieves stress, but may also shed new light on your problems. Learn to listen and consider suggestions with an open mind.

9. MAKE DECISIONS. Most people have no idea how much stress they create for themselves by resisting change. They wait, hoping a situation will go back to the way it was. When it’s time to change old habits and move forward, make your own change for the better.

10. GET SUPPORT. Do you sometimes find problems too personal to discuss? Or feel they may be too much of a burden on others? Remember, you’re not alone. Other people with similar problems understand what you’re going through without the need for lengthy explanations. They share your concerns and they want to learn how to cope with stress, too.
